For those of you who don’t know, I am a huge Gospel fan. I was blessed with a voice passed down through many generations of famous singers and quartet groups. Singers such as David Peaston who is famous for his #1 song Can I, and his famous “God Bless the child” performance at the World famous Apollo Theater. Fontella Bass known for her 1965 hit “Rescue me”, she was a down home girl born and raised in St. Louis Missouri. Also my late Great Aunt Martha Bass, who is a gospel singer known for her savvy voice and powerful notes from the group ,The Clara Ward Singers with such singles as, "Im gettin Nearer to my home” and "I'm So Grateful. My Grandfather, George Mitchell, from the famous Gospel group The Christian Five, known for their #1 hit “God will make a way”. I have a passion for this music that I feel every day. I wake up in the morning and I can’t help but to turn on 1390am, or put in a gospel CD. From the first day I was able to see a live gospel performance I was hooked. The essence of gospel music is motivating to the soul, and I like to share the different artist I like with everyone. Yolanda Adams is one of my favorite artist, the way she sings just brings you to your feet, I have been a long time fan of her ,and that voice soothes me, her CD “mountain high valley low” is one of my favorites. I also love the new comer Marvin Sapp with his #1 hit “Never could have made it” if you’ve ever been though some thing or are currently going through something I can guarantee listening to this gospel song will definitely bring you out.
